The Seal
It’s over the main lock, cut into the concrete before anyone thought to ask what it meant. An hourglass that is also an X that is also, if you look long enough, an S and a Z sharing one line. Around it, a ring of circuit trace with orange lights that have never gone out. Around that, three words.
EXECUTE. Do the thing. Nobody in Bitlantis gets credit for a plan.
INFILTRATE. Every wall in this city was somebody’s idea. Ideas have doors.
MUTATE. Whatever you were on the surface, you’re not that here. The city changed when it went under. So did you. Keep going.
The Curators tried to register the seal as a municipal trademark. The application came back with the words rearranged and the Director’s signature already on it. The Code Master has never admitted to that one, which is how everyone knows.
This is the one file Kestrel gives away sometimes. Stickers, mostly. If you find one on a lamp post in the Shallows, you’re allowed to take it. The city wants to be carried.
